Fall leaf colors are beginning to emerge throughout the state, including in the north country, according to spotters with Empire State Development.

The agency said that this week you can expect to see some yellow leaves beginning to peek through the green in the Thousand Island-Seaway region, including in Alexandria Bay.

Canton spotters in St. Lawrence County expect a 10 percent color change, with touches of yellow and orange just starting.

In Oswego County, spotters expect a 5 to 10 percent color change, with burgundy and brown hues beginning to show.

The Tupper Lake area of the Adirondacks in Franklin County is promising; spotters expect up to a 10 percent color change, with “tinges of mustard, goldenrod, copper, burgundy and an occasional crimson.”
